Women in Leadership

How do women in leadership positively impact an organisation’s culture, business and bottom line? Hear from the specialists!

We’re delighted to announce the M&T Resources Women in Leadership event for 2019.

As a leader in recruitment and a passionate advocate for gender diversity and women in leadership, M&T Resources is proud to be running this event.

We are excited to welcome a range of industry leaders who will share their personal experiences on this topical subject. There will also be the opportunity to network with likeminded professionals from a variety of Tier 1 organisations and share ideas on how to close the gender gap and address workplace equality.

According to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency:

  • Women comprise 46.9% of all employed persons in Australia
  • Women hold 13.7% of chair positions and 25.8% of directorships, and represent 17.1% of CEOs and 30.5% of key management personnel
  • 29.7% of directors in the ASX 200 are women
  • A 14.1% gender pay gap still exists for full time employees, down from 18.5% in 2014
  • Average superannuation balances for women at retirement are 42% lower than those for men
  • Almost 75% of employers have an overall gender equality strategy however only 31.4% have implemented KPIs relating to gender equality outcomes

Dr Alicia Aitken
Head of Investment Management & Delivery | Group Transformation, ANZ
Alicia is the Head of Investment Management & Delivery at ANZ, responsible for managing the strategic planning, prioritisation, allocation and ongoing management of ANZ’s investments. Prior to her role at ANZ Alicia held the position of Chief Project Officer for Telstra, where she led the organisation’s journey to establish project management as a stand-alone capability separate from IT, business and engineering skills. Alicia spent several years as CEO, Human Systems International acquired by the Project Management Institute. Alicia is also the chairperson for the International Centre for Complex Project Management (ICCPM). She holds a PhD in project management and psychology with a particular focus on how project managers cope with stress and a bachelor of business.

 

Julia Checcia PMP
Project Manager | PWC President | Project Management Institute (PMI) Sydney Chapter
As the current President for the PMI Sydney Chapter, Project Management Trainer and Lecturer, Julia has the opportunity to lead, work and inspire like-minded people to pursue continuous self development. Amongst many other roles Julia has successfully worked as the Head of Project Management Office, Engagement Manager, Program Manager, Project Delivery Executive, Project Manager, Transition and Transformation Manager in sectors of the Government, Banking, Retail, Telco, Transport and IT Vendors. She has worked in many countries such as Brazil, Australia, Hong Kong and Thailand.

 

Michelle Starr
Workplace Culture | Strategic Change | Transformation
Michelle is a workplace culture and strategic change consultant with over 19 years’ experience designing and managing culture change and transformation initiatives. She assists businesses in identifying and understanding culture dynamics/levers, and aligning structures, practices and behaviours with strategic objectives. Having studied for 3 years on the opportunities and constraints of women in C-Suite leadership, as part of a Master of Philosophy research degree, Michelle is uniquely positioned to convey relevant information on the current state and future trends of gender diversity. Her perspectives challenge current framing of and approaches to gender diversity.

Dr Temre Green
Transformation | Organisational Development | Change Director
Temre leads a team of forty Change Management professionals across Westpac’s Business Bank product, service and transformation initiatives. Her leadership and capabilities were recognised when she was named as one of Westpac’s 2017 Women of Influence and the 2018 Business Bank Fellow. Temre holds a Master of Science in Organisational Behaviour and a Doctorate in Industrial-Organisational Psychology. She is most driven by challenging the status quo and leads with empathy, transparency and courage. Temre is also President of the Board for a not for profit organisation, a wife and mother to a toddler, and enjoys spending her free time water-skiing.
