Role Overview
As a Specialist Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing a mining digital twin. You will work on innovative solutions that tackle complex challenges in automation, fleet optimization, grade modelling and material movements. Join a dynamic Agile team, solve technical problems, and contribute to driving innovation within the mining industry.
  
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop new features for digital products in the mining sector
Implement technical solutions to meet business requirements
Solve complex technical challenges encountered by the team
Stay informed of the latest software development trends and technologies
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
Contribute to architectural and design discussions
Maintain a high-performing and inclusive team culture

To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant professional qualification
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in software development
Solid understanding of CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
Advanced knowledge in Python, Azure Functions, and containerization
Strong expertise in .NET Core, Azure DevOps, and trunk-based development
Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with message buses
Familiarity with test-driven development (unit testing)
Database development and integration experience (SQL, NoSQL)
Version control system experience (e.g., git)
Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and quality standards
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience with Agile processes, including estimation and planning
  
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of mine planning optimization
Familiarity with drilling and blasting workflows
Understanding of mining value chains
Experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript development
  
Contract Details
Duration: 6 months
Rate: $819.52 – $905.65/Day + Super
Location: Perth, Western Australia (Hybrid options available must be in living in Perth currently)
