IT & Telecomms Project Management / Team Lead

We have a brand-new role for an experienced Resource Planning Lead to work with a financial services client within their Transformation Management Office. This role will be pivotal in ensuring accurate forecasting of resource demand, capacity, and utilisation across a dynamic portfolio of programs and projects.

This role will start off as an initial 12-month contract with the potential for extension, and can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.
  
Accountabilities:

  • Engage with Program and Project Managers, Business and Technology Delivery Managers to capture plans, estimates, and resourcing requirements.
  • Drive the use of planning and estimation frameworks, ensuring labour resourcing requirements are clearly defined and tracked.
  • Support programs and projects in recording accurate resource plans and forecasts within the resource management tool.
  • Maintain comprehensive demand and capacity forecasts across business and technology teams.
  • Collaborate with Resource Owners to align availability and skills with project needs.
  • Produce clear utilisation and capacity reports to support strategic workforce decisions.
  • Conduct scenario planning and what-if analysis to inform sequencing and prioritisation of work.
  • Identify and address resource constraints and risks across the portfolio.
  • Train and support stakeholders on planning processes and tools, ensuring consistency and quality of data.
  • Analyse and present complex data in a clear, meaningful way to enable confident decision-making.

About You:

  • Proven experience in workforce/resource planning within a PMO environment (program or portfolio level) within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of program and project delivery frameworks, including Agile.
  • Highly analytical with strong capability in modelling, reporting, and scenario planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
  • Experience with tools such as MS Project Online/Server, Power BI, MS Excel (advanced), and Atlassian (desirable).
  • Qualifications in change delivery frameworks (PMBoK, Prince2, SAFe, MSP, etc.) will be highly regarded.
